It sets no-one apart to tell voters that you want them to thrive and prosper, that you value success. No-one disagrees. Jacinda Ardern has made a career out of political values no-one can disagree with (“be kind”), but the purpose of politics is to choose between alternative ideas. ​If you aspire to lead New Zealand, you must lead for all New Zealanders, not just the privileged.
